Peer-to-peer fundraising is a method of fundraising that leverages supporters of Valor Ministries to fundraise on our behalf. It’s also known as social fundraising, personal and/or team fundraising, or p2p fundraising.
What are the benefits of peer-to-peer fundraising?
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a powerful technique that helps get new donors and reach new networks of people. Some benefits include:
Builds Upon Existing Relationships: Traditional fundraising such as grant writing and major donor relations take a significant investment in time and effort. Peer-to-peer fundraising helps with relationship-building by tapping into our current supporters’ respective networks—their friends, family, and colleagues.
Multiplies Impact of Limited Resources: At Valor Ministries, we know how challenging it is to work within time and resource constraints. Peer-to-peer fundraising helps us make the most of what we already have by raising up an army among our current supporters. You and Valor will work together to build upon our ongoing fundraising efforts in some really creative ways.
Grows Awareness Organically: When you champion our cause and raise funds, you will start with your family, friends, and colleagues. By sharing your story, you will help carry our message and mission to new audiences in one of the most effective forms of marketing—word of mouth.
How do I get started peer-to-peer fundraising?
Getting started with peer-to-peer fundraising is easy. Here are a few ways to begin:
Be Creative: Your fundraiser should be fun, engaging, and reflect your personality as well as Valor’s mission and vision. Really, the possibilities are endless.
Set Up Your Page: Create your own page to serve as a hub for your fundraising activities. You can draw supporters in by telling them your personal story and how it connects with Valor Ministries. This is also the place where you can keep track of your overall progress. You can also form a team to work collaboratively on behalf of Valor and the clients we serve.
To get started, simply click on the support button at the top of the page. You will then be directed to a new page where you can click on “Become a Fundraiser” to set up your own unique page. Once set up is complete, make sure you share your page on social media and/or send a link to your peers announcing your fundraiser. Consider reaching out to others and ask them to be part of your team to increase your chances of reaching your goals.
