Housing Counseling

The main objectives of housing counseling at Valor Ministries is to:

      • Provide basic housing counseling services for low-income and homeless residents of Washington County.

      • Enable clients to become more knowledgeable about housing programs.

      • Assist renters to locate and qualify for assisted rental units.

What to expect at your first appointment:

First, you will fill out all required intake forms and then discuss your current living situation and the circumstances that led you to this point.  We will review your monthly income and expenses as well as determine the amount of rent you can truly afford.  We will also work together to develop a plan for you to secure affordable, permanent housing.

What you need to bring to your appointment:

      • Driver’s License or Photo ID for ALL adults in household

      • Proof of income for ALL members of household

      • If working, please bring two (2) most recent paystubs
