Valor Ministries is dedicated to providing opportunities to serve our community

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Romans 12:6-8 “We all have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”

Our staff and volunteers work hand-in-hand with clients to provide assistance with housing, finances, job preparedness, mentoring, life skills, and more.  Our goal is to help clients achieve self-sufficiency through case management and education approach.  Due to economic conditions, we are seeing a tremendous increase in the number of people requesting support. As a result, we need volunteers to fill positions within the following programs: crisis intervention, mentoring, training coordinators, fundraising, and Draped with Confidence.   We also need volunteers with outstanding data entry skills.  Fill out the volunteer application HERE.

We are looking for people with servant hearts who are willing to serve where needed before assuming leadership positions.   While we understand not everyone will be able to be at every event or participate in every program, we’re looking for people who follow through on their commitments.  Levels of commitment can vary.  Some volunteers will choose to serve only a small amount in addition to serving in other churches or non-profits; some will make Valor Ministries their first priority of service.  In any case, Valor Ministries is excited about who God will call to help.  For without volunteers, our mission would not succeed.

Instructors:  We are looking for experienced teachers who would be willing to teach life development classes on an as-needed basis.

Administration:  We are looking for people who would be willing to help with accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, filing, telemarketing, mass mailing, and other general office duties.  A good knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.

Case Workers:  The aim is to bring about beneficial outcomes for clients in a timely fashion.  An advocate may provide information and advice in order to assist a person to take action to resolve their own concerns.  Our case workers assist clients to access and/or change community services; ensure that the service chosen is appropriate; communicate with other service providers; and negotiate suitable resolutions for problem situations.

Mentors:  Mentors work to assist others to develop specific skills and knowledge that will enhance their personal and spiritual growth.  We teach our clients to overcome specific issues that are keeping them stuck in the negative circumstances of their lives; coach them to master particular skills; facilitate their growth by sharing resources and networks; challenge them to move beyond their comfort zones; create safe learning environments for taking risks; and focus on our client’s total development–body, soul, and spirit.

Mass Media/Communications:  We are looking for people with strong computer and internet skills who would be able to help with our websites, online calendars, and social media outlets.  We’re also looking for volunteers who can help with advertising and promotion, such as developing brochures, ads, signs and other promotional materials.  Graphic Design experience is a plus.

Stage Crew:  We need able bodied volunteers who can help transport heavy equipment and support the set up and tear down efforts of our mobile ministry.  Volunteers must attend a stage construction/tear down training session prior to serving.

Musicians:  We’re looking for musicians with various levels of experience who are willing to be trained and mentored before joining the worship team.  What we need varies from time to time and positions are filled at the discretion of the Director of Multi-Media and Worship.

Fundraising Team:  Do you like networking with businesses, organizations, and people within the community?  If so, then please consider joining this team who will be responsible for raising the funds needed for Valor Ministries to impact the world with greater effectiveness!  God says in Phil 4:19 that He is able to meet ALL our needs according to His riches in glory.  That’s exciting because it challenges our faith level to rise and to believe our Lord at His Word!  At Valor, we believe that if it’s God’s will, it’s God’s bill!  God pays for His work! It’s the responsibility of the Fundraising Team to guide God’s people into faith as we work together with God to share the gospel with our lost world.
