How God's Light Invades Evil's Darkness!

Updated: Sep 21, 2021

He brings sustaining light into the darkest places of our hearts, minds, and souls.

We encounter many things in life... often we do find that more good than bad happens to the vast majority of us and we daily stroll through life in an easy, unfiltered manner. We are blessed in many ways in life to have those things we need - the things that keep us moving, surviving, healthy, loved, wanted, desired, and cared for.

However, those very things that we find are good in our life can also prove to be detrimental for others in theirs. When we have to fight to survive because evil in this world forms its opinions and thoughts of how to love, desire, care and want another person - darkness can take root in our hearts, minds, and souls. The evil perpetuated by others takes us on a journey of despair and pain like none other. Sometimes these journeys last far longer than we want and sometimes they are filled with more heartache than we can withstand. But it is on these journeys that we begin to live as Christ would have us live.

We can hide from the world what we do not wish them to see. We can expertly don masks to hide our hurt and pain. Many times we can do this so well, that no one is ever the wiser to the pain in our lives.

But as life moves along, it sometimes becomes less and less easy to do and our deeply hidden pains and wounds come spilling forth. And it's okay! It's okay not to have it altogether and it's okay to let go! God sees the hurt in our lives and He offers a way for us to be healed and things to be made new.

"Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19

Can you grasp hold of why God would want us to know this - that everything from the past is made new - that He makes a way where we thought one wouldn't exist - that He takes us from the desert of our minds and He provides living water in the middle of pain - that He brings sustaining light into the most darkest places of our hearts, minds, and souls - that only He can dispel the darkness that evil caused!?

God needs us to deal with our hurts. It is only by doing so that we can move forward in life; that we learn lessons about ourselves; that we find who we are - not in our strength but only in, through, and by God's strength; that we become renewed, redeemed, and restored; and that ultimately we find freedom.
